Our Plymouth, IN location, Hoosier Racing Tire, is seeking a Compound Development Engineer to join our team.
Compound Development Engineers at Hoosier have the unique and exciting role of developing winning compounds; from conception to processing to race events. The entire process of race tire compound development and race tire production occurs at our Plymouth location. Are you ready to shape the future with us?
We are hiring a Compound Development Engineer with a focus on development and industrialization of tread and body compounds for racing tires. Requirements include:
• Race-track evaluation of compounds at testing and race events - travel is required
• Technical assistance to race teams
• Competitor compounds benchmarking, chemical and physical analysis
• New raw materials evaluation
• Development of new tire compound recipes, motivated by
o Racetrack performance
o Plant processing requirements
o Costs or complexity improvements
o Sustainability improvement
o Basic know-how expansion
• Development of non-tire compounds as part of our Special Business Unit
• Researching raw materials for substitution purposes, as backup in case of supply chain issues
• Industrialization of compounds together with the rubber process engineering team
• Problem solving of raw material supplier issues
• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or rubber chemistry
• experiences from rubber industry, at least 2 years
