Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Engineer to join our Original Equipment Tires Business Unit.

Tire Development and Release
Manage tire development projects for assigned Original Equipment (OE) customers.
Act as a technical liaison between OE customers and Product Development Team (PDT).
Support design strategy development for running and future OE tire development projects. Develop/execute submission strategies jointly with PDT Engineer, Subjective Handling Driver, and Key Account Manager (KAM).
Plan, organize, support, and attend joint tests with customers at different stages of OE tire development projects.
Manage prototype/sample tire orders of OE customers.
Manage OE customer/product specific requirements ensuring all relevant requirements are incorporated in project scope, project deliverables, and Continental internal documents/procedures.
Support/lead PPAP approval process for the assigned projects.
Plan/coordinate/execute the activities with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure flawless launch of OE tires.
Collaborate internal and external stakeholders to support OE product development processes as a team member.
Build/utilize trust based, effective, mutual value creation focused relationships with key decision makers at OE customers.
Lead/support account activities in preparation for technical reviews for running and future OE tire development projects.
Support RFQ and 5 Year Plan activities as required by KAM.
Take additional responsibilities as required by KAM to support the business
Support KAM in developing and executing technical strategies to position Continental in a competitive position for current and future business opportunities.
Support and organize as needed account specific activities (i.e. regular/special meetings with customers, tech shows, driving events, technology presentations, advance development projects, Continental facility visits, etc.) to continuously improve OE customer’s perception of Continental.
Provide input concerning future OE requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree or Above, mechanical, or automotive engineer, or similar technical education.
• 7 years’ minimum of experience in tire development testing or manufacturing or 14 years minimum of experience if no relevant bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years+ of program management experience with OEM customers
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Continental is willing to offer a sign-on bonus to candidates that are relocating but will not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity.
• 10 years’ minimum of experience in tire development testing or manufacturing and degree preferred
• Involved in more than 3 OEM projects, applicable Continental System/Process/Tools experience is preferred
• Tire development experience is preferred
