The ADAS Algorithm Development Engineer will develop function algorithms for application projects that will go into series production in the next few years. Our Functions portfolio includes features for safety assistance, trailer maneuvering, and automated parking. In addition to collaborating within the Functions team, the Algorithm Development Engineer will collaborate with radar/camera sensing engineers and system test engineers to deliver functions to application projects.
Analyze measurement data from test vehicles using simulation tools and advanced data analysis techniques, to identify issue root-causes and implement function improvements
Develop/calibrate features for safety assistance, trailer maneuvering or automated parking (ex. decision tree, motion planning, controls algorithms)
Collaborate effectively with multiple engineering teams (internal and external) to determine requirements, architecture, and test methods to ensure on-time achievement of project objectives
Manage function requirements, including analysis, customer clarifications, and traceability
Contribute to SW Quality and Releases through implementing unit verification, peer code reviews, risk assessments, ASPICE audits, etc.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field such as Physics / Mathematics / Computer science
Strong programming skills in C or similar coding language such as C++ or Python
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
2+ years experience in automotive industry or related field
Must be willing to work on different products and different algorithm development roles to fill department needs
Must be willing to travel internationally or domestically
Self-starter and motivated to develop into a domain lead engineer that is responsible for overall algorithm delivery in an application project
Experience with ADAS Sensors and Systems (Ex. Radar, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, Road Model, Path Planning)
Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Engineering or related field such as Physics / Mathematics / Computer science
Experience in automating analysis of large datasets with Python
Hands-on experience with CarMaker and/or CarSim
Experience in complex embedded control systems
Firm grasp of statistical concepts and ability to analyze large sets of data
Hands on experience with Markov Decision Processes, motion planning (A, D, RRTs, etc.), optimal estimation methods (ex. Kalman filtering), Vehicle Dynamics
1+ years professional experience at a robotics, aerospace, defense, or automotive company developing safety and/or mission-critical control systems
Exposure to Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS, Software Engineering Processes (V-Cycle, Waterfall, Agile)
Clean driving record and willingness to work with test vehicles
